Definition: QLED


(Quantum dot LED) A display technology that uses quantum dots to emit light. QLED is expected to be more power efficient than OLED and less costly to manufacture. QLED is also ultra-thin, transparent and flexible. See OLED.

In 2017, Samsung introduced its QLED line of TVs, which are LCD-based TVs that are augmented with quantum dots. Although they provide excellent quality, they are not pure quantum dot LED TVs. See 8K TV, LED TV and SUHD.
