Definition: Planck time

The smallest time interval ever defined. Named after theoretical physicist Max Planck (1858-1947), Planck time is 10^-43 seconds; however, the only measurement ever actually made was more than twice as long. Due to the "time-energy uncertainty principle," any atomic particle that exists less than the Planck time would be considered a black hole.
