A digital rights management (DRM) system from Sony for ATRAC3, WAV and MP3 formats. Compliant with SDMI, once the protected songs are downloaded to the user's hard disk, they cannot be distributed onto the network. OpenMG Jukebox software is used to download and encrypt the files and check them out to the VAIO Music Clip portable player. "Checking out" and then "checking in" the files transfers them temporarily to the Music Clip without violating copyrights. See
