Definition: NetCDF

(NETwork Common Data Form) A self-describing data format for array-oriented scientific information from the Unidata program at the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR). NetCDF provides interfaces to the data for C/C++, FORTRAN and Java. A NetCDF-to-ASCII utility is also available.
