(1) (National Center for Supercomputing Applications, Urbana-Champaign, IL) A high-performance computing facility located at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Founded in 1985 by a National Science Foundation grant, the NCSA provides supercomputer resources to hundreds of universities and organizations engaged in scientific research.
