Definition: MultiSync monitor

A family of multifrequency monitors from NEC Display Solutions that celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2015. The MultiSync's introduction was significant because its compatibility with all popular graphics cards of the time eliminated the need for monitor upgrades every time a new video standard emerged. Subsequently, this became the norm for all monitors. See multitouch.

Long-lived MultiSync
MultiSync monitors were first introduced in 1985. Twenty years later, this 21" LCD display was ultra thin, glare-free and featured wide-angle viewing, an integrated USB 2.0 hub and a 1000:1 contrast ratio. (Image courtesy of NEC Display Solutions.)
