A Web browser based on Chromium as of Maxthon Version 6. Introduced in 2002 as "MyIE2," Maxthon was originally built on the Internet Explorer (IE) engine along with advanced features. Officially renamed the "Maxthon Browser," Maxthon offered tabbed browsing before the feature was added in IE 7. Browser settings synchronize across all devices Maxthon is installed on.

Pronounced "max-ton," Maxthon integrates crypto with its Vbox wallet that supports permanent and universal blockchain-based identity via the NBdomain decentralized domain system. Maxthon comes with its own VPN, and Web pages can be saved as PDF files. See Chromium and VPN.
