A cooling "fan on a chip" from xMEMS Labs, Santa Clara, California. Introduced in 2024 and only one millimeter thick, the fan provides active cooling for smartphones and other portable devices. See

XMC-2400
This is the first cooling fan on a silicon chip (9x8x1 mm). When placed on top of a CPU or other heat-generating chip, the cool air (blue) flows in from the top and hot air (yellow) goes out through the side vents. (Image courtesy of xMEMS Labs.)
