Definition: Las Vegas Sphere


An entertainment venue in Paradise, Nevada, adjacent to Las Vegas. Opened in 2023 by Sphere Entertainment, a spin-off of the Madison Square Garden Company, the Sphere is noted for its wraparound screen with 16K resolution and its 4D environment comprising a 3D image plus physical effects such as vibration, wind. mist, scent and temperature. With seats for 17,600 people, the building is 366 feet high and 517 feet wide. From September 2023 to March 2024, the U2 band was the first show at the Sphere.

At a construction cost of more than $2 billion, the Sphere is the most expensive entertainment venue in the Las Vegas Valley and the largest spherical building on the globe. It also has the largest LED screen ever built. See LVCC Loop.




Endless Entertainment
