Definition: LTE-U


(Long Term Evolution-Unlicensed) An LTE cellular technology from Qualcomm that uses unlicensed spectrum. LTE-U was designed to operate with Wi-Fi, which uses the same frequencies, and coexistence standards were released in 2016. Contrast with LAA. See ISM band.
