Definition: Kaby Lake


The 7th-generation microarchitecture in Intel's Core family of CPU chips. Introduced in 2016, Kaby Lake superseded Skylake using the same 14 nm process technology. Kaby Lake offered faster clock speeds with a maximum Turbo rate of 3.6 GHz. Graphics and 4K video performance are also improved. See Intel microarchitectures.
