A software company in the Netherlands that specializes in integrated development environments (IDEs) for more than a dozen programming languages, including C/C++, PHP and Python.

Multiple JetBrains IDEs are cross platform and support Windows, Mac and Linux. Android Studio, Google's official IDE, was built on a JetBrains foundation for the Java and Kotlin languages. AppCode is JetBrains' IDE for Objective-C and Swift, the primary Apple languages.

A leader in this field, JetBrains was founded in Prague in 2000 as IntelliJ by three Russian software engineers. IntelliJ Renamer, a Java refactoring tool, was the company's first product. See refactor and IDE.
