The network device that enables access to the Internet. At one end, the Internet modem connects to the coaxial, telephone or fiber optic cable that comes into the home or building from the Internet service provider (ISP). At the other end, it connects to the wired or wireless router via Ethernet. An Internet modem may be a stand-alone device or combined with a router (see
