Definition: Inflection AI

A generative AI company founded in 2022 by Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn, Mustafa Suleyman, co-founder of Google DeepMind and Karen Simonyan. Inflection AI's first product, Pi, which stands for "personal intelligence," is a chatbot. According to the company, Pi can brainstorm ideas, keep a journal, make a plan, read a story and help people to learn something new, feel calm or just plain vent.

Inflection Fueled Microsoft
In 2024, Hoffman, Suleyman and most of the company's staff left Inflection AI to start Microsoft's AI division and enhance its offerings in AI. With Suleyman as CEO, the new division is responsible for all of Microsoft's AI research and products. See chatbot and AI.

Pi was given the input "what is a happy computer," and the following was the result:

 smoothly and efficiently, without any glitches or
 technical issues.

 A happy computer is like a well-oiled machine, it
 runs quickly, responds to user input accurately,
 and doesn't give its user any trouble.  It's like
 a happy worker bee, buzzing along, doing what
 it's supposed to do without a hitch.

 instead of frustrating them!
