A Meta Platform datacenter in Richland Parish, Louisiana. Hyperion is Meta's second AI datacenter (see
Prometheus). A huge facility expected to be five miles long and a mile wide, it is designed to handle up to five gigawatts of power. Costing $30 billion, Hyperion is planned to be fully operational by 2030.
In order to initially reach two gigawatts, both natural gas and solar are used. Two gas plants will be constructed by Entergy Louisiana next to the facility and a third will be built 100 miles away. Hyperion is expected to use NVIDIA GPUs and the company's own Meta Training and Inference Accelerator (MTIA) silicon.
Water Cooling for Power
This area in Louisiana is one of the most water-rich in the country, and the 23 million gallons of water per day will recycle to cool the power sources and electronics. See
