Definition: Humanichs

The humanoid robot project in the 2014 CBS two-season science fiction series "Extant," executive-produced by Stephen Spielberg. Extant stars Halle Berry, who plays astronaut Molly Woods, and her husband John Woods is played by Goran Visnjic. Their Humanichs son, which John developed in his lab with coworkers, is a young boy named Ethan.

The second season in 2015 was not as popular as the first due to actor changes and less focus on science fiction; however, Extant had a resurgence in 2025 after it was added to Netflix's lineup. See humanoid robot.

Ethan Woods

Played by nine-year old Pierce Gagnon, Ethan exhibits emotions, although reserved, along with qualities and powers way beyond human capabilities.
