A Chinese hacker community that launched cyberattacks in the U.S., Taiwan and Japan beginning in the mid-1990s. Arising out of Honkers, the Network Crack Program Hacker (NCPH) group created GinWui, one of China's first remote-access back doors, which was used in attacks against U.S. companies. Many Honkers members migrated to the Chinese government's formal hacking group (see
APT41).
