Definition: HQV


(Hollywood Quality Video) A family of video processing technologies from Integrated Device Technologies (IDT) that includes scaling, deinterlacing, image sharpening and cadence detection. Acquired from Silicon Optix in 2008, the HQV algorithms in IDT's Reon VX and Vida chips are used in A/V receivers, Blu-ray/DVD players and other video equipment. See video processing.
