Definition: Project Suncatcher

An Alphabet (Google) endeavor for building AI datacenters in space. Using solar-powered satellites and Google's TPU AI chips, Suncatcher is designed to run on nearly constant solar power. In addition, there are fewer physical limitations for datacenter construction as there are on earth. By 2027, two prototype satellites from Planet Labs are expected to launch. See AI datacenter and Tensor Processing Unit.
