Google's videoconferencing service that was launched in 2017 and originally part of Google Hangouts. Google Meet started out as only available to Google Workspace subscribers, but during COVID was made available to everyone. Meet calls, which are encrypted, can be made via a browser or mobile apps. Competing directly with Zoom and widely used during the pandemic, Meet has a simple user interface. In 2022, Google Duo transitioned to Google Meet. See
