Definition: Google Brain

An AI research division within Google that was created in 2011. Google Brain is an internal AI group whereas DeepMind is a stand-alone AI company acquired by Google in 2014, which became a part of Alphabet a year later. Both Google Brain and DeepMind work on AI projects. For example, Google Brain is noted for its development of the TensorFlow framework, whereas DeepMind has been developing algorithms with Alphabet's Waymo for driverless cars.
