Definition: Format Painter

A feature in Microsoft Word that applies a style from one part of the document to another. The text with the desired style (font, size, etc.) is highlighted and Format Painter (paint brush icon) is clicked. Whichever text is highlighted next is then changed to the desired style. See Microsoft Word.
