(Federal Technology Service 2000) A digital fiber-optic network providing voice, video, email and high-speed data communications for the U.S. government. FTS 2000 expired in 1998 and was superseded by FTS 2001. The next migration is to the Networx program. AT&T, Sprint, Quest, WorldCom and Level 3 have provided telecom services under these federal programs.
