Definition: EPOC


An operating system developed in the late 1980s for PDAs from London-based Psion. Supporting Java applications, email, fax, infrared exchange and data synchronization with PCs, EPOC included a suite of PIM and productivity applications. It was later rebranded Symbian OS (see Symbian). See also epoch.
