Definition: DirXML

The code name for directory interchange software from Novell that integrates NDS with other directories in Exchange, IBM Notes, Windows 2000 (Active Directory) and others. It provides agents that monitor the activity in the directories and uses XML to exchange the updated data. DirXML is not a metadirectory, since it does not create a master directory; rather it keeps all the different directories in synchronization. See NDS and XML.
