Definition: Cybercab
An autonomous taxicab from Tesla introduced in October 2024. The Cybercab is a full self-driving taxi (no steering wheel) that is designed for the future Tesla Network ride-hailing business. In 2025, using self-driving Model Y vehicles, Tesla began self-driving taxi trials in Austin, Texas (see Robotaxi).
The Robovan
Along with the Cybercab, Tesla's 20-passenger Robovan was introduced. Pronounced "ro-bo-vin," the Robovan is expected by 2027. See Tesla, Cybertruck and transportation network company.
