The code name for System 7.5 of the Mac operating system. Developed in the mid-1990s, considerable effort went into Copland. However, it never came to fruition, although elements were included in subsquent versions of the Mac OS. Copland was developed during a difficult time at Apple, culminating in Steve Jobs' return in 1997 to the company he founded. See
