Definition: CoinGecko


A crypto information portal. Launched in 2014 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, CoinGecko covers cryptocurrencies, exchanges and NFTs. It also hosts GeckoCon, a two-day virtual conference with panel sessions and keynotes, and it ranks crypto exchanges using proprietary analysis (see major crypto exchanges).

A paid subscription enables users to read exclusive articles as well as obtain a weekly roundup and have private group chats with the organization's research analysts. See crypto stats.

CoinGecko provides programming interfaces (APIs) that allow developers to incorporate a variety of real-time data into their apps, such as prices, trading volume, historical data and more.
