Definition: CoCreate


(CoCreate Software Inc., Fort Collins, CO) A software company specializing in mechanical CAD (MCAD), data management and project team collaboration software. Established in 1985 as the Mechanical Design Division of Hewlett-Packard, CoCreate adopted its name in 1996 when it became a subsidiary of HP. In 2000, CoCreate became an independent entity and was acquired by PTC in 2007.

Its main products include Designer Modeling for the creation of 2D drawings and 3D models; Model Manager, a data management application that ensures designers are always working on the correct version of their 2D drawing or 3D model; and OneSpace.net, a project collaboration tool that helps distributed project teams overcome the complexity of a design process that stretches across sites, contractors or outsourced teams.
