Definition: Chromecast Audio

An audio version of Google's Chromecast video streamer. Introduced in 2015 and terminated in 2019, Chromecast Audio enabled any powered speaker to receive music from a desktop or mobile device via Wi-Fi. Like its video counterpart, songs were "cast" to the speaker from a music app. See Chromecast.
