(CEntralized FInance) The traditional financial services. Also called "TradFi," the CeFi moniker arose after blockchains and decentralized finance (DeFi) burst onto the scene in the late 2010s (see DeFi). See centralized finance, centralized finance drawbacks and crypto glossary.
