Definition: CRAN


(1) (Comprehensive R Archive Network) A repository for the R programming language. CRAN includes the source and compiled versions of R for Windows and Mac along with thousands of packages. See R, CPAN and PyPI.

(2) (C-RAN) (Centralized-Radio Access Network) A cellular network that puts the baseband processing in a central location. One or more network operators may share this equipment, which feeds several remote antennas (remote radio heads). A C-RAN is also called a "cloud-based radio access network."
