A social media network from Bluesky Social PBC. Launched in 2019 as a research project to decentralize the Twitter platform, Bluesky became a separate company in 2021 and was invite-only until 2024, the same year Elon Musk acquired Twitter. Very similar to Twitter in operation, Bluesky adoption increased dramatically during the 2024 election cycle and provided an alternative to X, formerly Twitter.
