Definition: Bat keyboard


A chorded keyboard from Infogrip, Ventura, California for people able to use only one hand. Invented in 1986 and brought to market in 1991, the Bat keys are pressed in combination like piano chords, and speeds up to 60 words per minute can be obtained. The keyboard is also used for text and graphics manipulation where one hand moves the mouse and the other types on the Bat. See keyboard.
