Definition: AirTag
A Bluetooth tracker from Apple. Introduced in 2021, AirTags are attached to keys, luggage and other devices. As long as somebody has an Apple device nearby, the AirTag can be located. Initially only for Apple products, the Tracker Detect app was created to use AirTags with Android phones. See Bluetooth tracker and tile stalking.
AirTag Tracker
Battery powered, AirTags can be attached to anything that might be misplaced. Along with Bluetooth, AirTags have NFC and UWB communications, the latter providing more precise location accuracy when used with iDevices that have Apple's U1 chip. (Image courtesy of PCMag.com.)
