Definition: AT&T U-verse


A triple-play TV, Internet and phone service from AT&T. Launched in 2006 initially as an Internet-based TV service (IPTV) in Houston and subsequently nationwide, the U-verse branding went through many interations. In 2016, AT&T announced it was killing the brand because it was directing customers to its DirecTV satellite service.

In 2016, the Internet and phone service became AT&T Internet and AT&T Phone, but the U-verse brand remained for the TV. In 2020, U-verse TV became AT&T TV. See AT&T Internet, AT&T Worldnet and AT&T.
