AI applications can generate false information, which is known as a "hallucination;" however, misalignment might perform an erroneous action such as booking a flight or arranging a meeting when that was not the intention of the user. An agent going "rogue" and causing disruption is misalignment. Stating that an event happened in 2000 when it really was in 1950 is a hallucination. See
