Definition: 7zip

A Windows utility for archiving files in its native 7Z, as well as ZIP, TAR and WIM (Windows image) compression formats. It can also decompress a large number of formats. 7Z archives can be up to 10% smaller than files compressed with other methods, and users have a choice of several algorithms and compression adjustments. Although there is a command line version for Linux/Unix, the Windows version provides a graphical interface with optional encryption. See archive program.
