Definition: Verizon 5G Edge

Verizon's combination of 5G transmission and edge computing using Amazon AWS servers. Moving the processing from a central location to many venues closer to the cell towers (edge of the network) lowers latency for users who demand the fastest speed. For example, multiplayer gaming in the cloud requires the quickest access times, and moving the processing closer to each gamer makes the experience more realistic.

C-V2X (Cellular Vehicle to Everything)
Verizon's C-V2X is another example of benefits with the 5G Edge infrastructure. When cars are built with 5G antennas, they can communicate with traffic lights and other vehicles in the vicinity. Sensors can also spot hazards such as a deer in the road and communicate that danger to the car and driver.
