Definition: 1-Meg Modem

An earlier data access device from Nortel Networks that provided up to 960 Kbps downstream and 120 Kbps upstream over a standard telephone line. It used 10Base-T Ethernet to connect to the computer, while an RJ-11 passthrough allowed a phone, fax or analog modem to use the line simultaneously.
